CRYSTAL ARCHIVE & FUJI FLEX PRINTS
My Crystal Archive and Fuji Flex prints are the meeting of two worlds,
film and digital. First my 4x5 transparency film is scanned by a Tango
drum scanner to a 300 to 400 megabyte file for prints up to 40x60. Then
in the digital darkroom we fine tune the image to replicate the original.
This is done by using simple adjustments to correct color, curves, and
balance. I do not add color to the image that is not in the original.
This is like dodging and burning and color correction with filters in the
analog darkroom. Dirt & scratches are also removed. The key is to start
with a great image and high end scan.
The file is than moved to the Chromira L.E.D. light drum printer where
it is brought back into the photographic world by printing it on
Fuji Crystal Archive and Fuji Flex photographic papers. Fuji Flex is the
Crystal Archive emulsion on a polyester base and is very glossy. The
prints are then processed normally in photographic chemicals. These
prints are very archival and will not fade, so that you can enjoy them for
many years where ever you decide to display them.

My prints are limited editions; they are signed & numbered.
